Program Thesis: What are we trying to do with the Earth Changes Bulletin?

Most news media do not handle technical and scientific subjects like geology and earth sciences very well. They don't understand the causes and effects of activities in the Sun and Earth. Accordingly, they often do not understand if, when, how, why to report earthquakes, volcanic activity, global warming effects The treatment often sounds absent-minded, poorly qualified, and frequently contains various technical errors. Seldom is the treatment entertaining and genuinely educational.

Based on new scientific principles which have emerged during the past thirty years, many of the dynamic activities of the Sun and Earth can be linked together to see how a range of effects are linked together. This makes it possible to paint "the big picture" into a perspective which explains many diverse events and processes, especially climate and weather patterns such as global warming and El Nino. From the "big picture", long range predictions can be made for weeks and even months ahead.

The result is sophisticated cutting-edge information which is objective, balanced, astute, relevant, and can be easily seen and appreciated by lay audiences The perspective is generally global, seldom parochial.

POLAR MOTION
What is happening to the motion of the Earth.

Steady as she goes. No news, no changes, no turbulence visible. All of the important news continues to be in the current peak of Sunspot Cycle No. 23 as it drives Earth’s weather and climate patterns into 100 year plus record extremes.

The events in the solar atmosphere which impact weather and climate patterns, the magnetic field and auroras, including forecasts for the week, month, and year ahead.

Suddenly way up again

The third huge oscillation (since late July) in the intensity of solar weather and the number of sunspots is well underway. A steep wavefront has driven sunspot numbers up to 260 today, from a low of ~85 on ~August 28th. The numbers are likely to continue rising but the graph curve suggests they may not rise quite as high as the last peak (~310) on ~August 18th.

This huge upsurge in sunspots has been accompanied by a more vigorous stream of solar wind flowing out after last week’s new flares and CME’s (coronal mass ejections). This solar wind is blowing with great attitude, as can be seen in the Fluxgate Magnetometer at the U. of Alaska (see the above webpage). During the last 24 hours some of the most extreme chops in the seething ionic sea of the solar atmosphere have been recorded on the monitor’s graph.

With the upsurge in sunspots, the velocity of the solar wind increased from 350 km/s to 450 within the last 24 hours and this is loading the Earth’s atmosphere with massive new quantities of energy to drive global patterns into another round of extremes. Last night most of the high Northern latitudes saw massive green aurora’s and there will no doubt be plenty of energy for bright aurora’s during the next two or three nights, possibly for another week.

All conditions will worsen this month

As discussed previously, Earth’s atmosphere appears to take about two to three weeks to fully express the impacts of a sudden new input of energy from the Sun. The second wave of sunspot numbers, which peaked on August 18th, is just now beginning to produce another round of increased rains and storms in the Northern tier of Canada, Europe, and China. This extreme wet pattern should continue to develop during the next week and new flood surges probably will be experienced in these latitudes, quite possibly on top of the areas which have already been flooded during recent weeks.

These effects should be spent by about the middle of September but they will be followed by another impulse of wet weather commencing about the third week of September.

All of this of course, as discussed previously, is created by the high levels of ionic energy in the Earth’s atmosphere which robs the wet moist ocean air from many of the monsoon belts in the middle latitudes. The energy sends most of the equatorial ocean air up much higher in elevation and latitude, leaving drought in the monsoon belts while creating exceptional floods in the Northern latitudes.

Accordingly, as predicted at the beginning of the monsoon period in early June, there has been no monsoon in Arizona. Since the season ends on September 15th, it is quite clear that Arizona has missed one.

These conditions will be exacerbated mightily yet again by the coming flyby’s of first Mercury on September 28 and then Venus with the Earth late in October. Currently the inner planets are currently forming up a wonderful spiral for conducting solar activity straight out from Mercury to Venus and straight at the Earth. So expect the sunspot number to remain high with the tendency to get higher and peak on about September 28th. The current spiral of the inner planets can be seen at:

This peak of activity will dip slightly after the 28th but not for long. Venus is sure to pull into the Earth a tremendous surge of solar atmosphere and this surge will persist for at least three weeks beyond the Venus-Earth alignment during the last week of October.

UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO THE EXCEPTIONAL INFLUX OF SOLAR ACTIVITY WHICH THE INNER PLANETS “LENS” DIRECTLY INTO THE EARTH DURING THESE CLOSE FLY-BY’S, IT IS ALMOST COMPLETELY CERTAIN THAT ARIZONA AND MANY AREAS THROUGHOUT WESTERN U.S. WILL BE LOCKED INTO THE CURRENT EXTREME DROUGHT THROUGH TO THE END OF THIS YEAR AND MOST LIKELY UNTIL WELL INTO NEXT YEAR.
So also, with many parts of East Africa, the Indus River system in Western Bharati and East Pakistan, Gobi, and Mongolia. New Mexico will continue to split the difference, with drought in the western half of the state and more normal rain as an offshoot of Caribbean air masses which are flowing more aggressively up the Rio Grande River Watershed on the eastern slopes of the Continental Divide.

EL NINO WATCH: Nada, forget it. Meteorologists continue to confuse the extremes which are being caused by the solar sunspot influx this year with some of the weather which normally comes with El Nino. There is so minor build up of surface temperature along the equator but it is chaotic. It is not even remotely comparable to the last two El Nino patterns.

EARTHQUAKES
Around the world to see the current and potential patterns of seismic activity, with coverage of the windows of danger.

Action is muted, focused primarily in the South Seas

Tomorrow we will enter into the New Moon Syzygy Window. For quakes 3.0 plus in size, seismic activity remains muted in frequency and size but there should be a major upsurge in activity by Saturday, September 7, when the New Moon will begin. Naturally the activity should persist for at least two days and then settle down by the next weekly Earth Changes Bulletin.

During the last week the most interesting seismic activity was a cluster of four large earthquakes about 210 miles (340 km) WNW of Coos Bay, Oregon at about 10 km in depth (about 6 miles). Ranging in size from about 4.0 mag up to 5.7, these quakes are at the edge of a tectonic plate fragment which is wedged between the Pacific Tectonic Plate and the North American Tectonic Plate. These quakes may be associated with underwater rifting and underwater volcanism.

Quake activity around the world was widely distributed but the overwhelming majority of quakes 3.0 mag plus were in the South Seas, from Fiji and New Zealand through to Papua New Guinea. On Papua there has been a major upsurge of volcanic activity, focused especially on Pago which has been eruptive for the past three weeks.

For quakes of all sizes on the U.S. West Coast, the USGS charts show 265 quakes for the last week for California/Nevada and 27 for the last two weeks for the entire Pacific Northwest. The only wake-up quake was the 4.7 in the south L.A. Basin, which was felt as a minor tremor throughout the region. Activity can thus be classed as muted and there is no particular reason to believe that this New Moon Syzygy will be memorable.

VOLCANOES
Around the world with the most interesting and relevant volcano stories; briefs on the likely eruptions as well as coverage of on-going activity.

Hood is fast asleep and El Popo has succumbed as well by falling off from 20 events per day to only three. For SEPTEMBER 04 ((16:00 GMT), Cenapred reports “In the last 24 hours, the overall level of activity of Popocatepetl Volcano was characterized by the occurrence of 3 small exhalations, less than one hour of low amplitude harmonic tremor and three volcanotectonic earthquakes, two with magnitudes of 2.0, located below the cone, and one with 2.6 located 7 km from the crater in the southeastern sector.”

(For new readers, Hood and El Popo are on our vigilant watch because of certain prophecies which have been made about them).

The Southwest Volcano Centre reports 35 volcanoes on the alert status list, 5 volcanoes on the restless list, and 21 on the active eruption list. All activity appears to have become more muted after having peaked in intensity during last week and the prior one. The most disruptive activity was created by Pago on Papua and officials believe that the danger is lessening but that 4000 farmers around the volcano will have to be permanently relocated. Accordingly, after considering the past few months of our weekly reports, we can see that Popo is serving rather well as an excellent bellwether for worldwide volcanic activity at the current time.

AG INDUSTRY WATCH
Because of the high load of stress which the current peak in the sunspots have placed on the Ag industry, we alert on the changing scene in agriculture and how these are likely to effect the broader economy.

The international opinion is mixed about the availability of food grains, experts cite the availability of stored foodstocks and the success of crops this year in many areas. But reports of severe crop failures worldwide are mounting. Subscribers are beginning to respond by sending us reports from various places around the world on what is being reported on the ag situation. Phoenix Quest subscribers have been encouraged to post these during September and October to generate a large research file of data about the global food situation. From these posts we will gain a perspective for making judgements about the problem of shortages and economic disruption.

How the sunspots are likely to most effect human affairs during the weeks and months ahead?

September’s and October’s huge influx of ionic energization will once again increase emotional over-reactions and intellectual incoherence, esp. on the subject of violence, war, invasions, guilt, blame, revenge, and so on. Ask as well the nearest vet who has Gulf War Syndrome whether you should invest credibility in what the Pentagon War Machine tells you about trust and commitment. Then ask the rest of the world, you know, informed people like Europeans who live much closer to Iraq, or Iraq’s neighbors, who have the most to lose, whether the Pentagon War Machine should be allowed to beat the crap out of an entire nation of miserable people who are held in bondage by a madman who is a pro at SM. Finally ask youself, how can an entire nation of American’s possibly believe that ending Sodamed Insane’s tyranny requires a war. DARE TO ASK ,

How do you deal with the threat of Sodamed Insane’s weapons of mass destruction? Like Bill Clinton said last night on Larry King Live (I am not an admirer of Bill Clinton nor his centrist republi-cratic party), one thing is for sure right now, Sadam Husein doesn’t dare use them or he is toast. That’s about right. Clinton has that right.

The fear factor worked for fifty years to stalemate Stalin and his successor tyrants. For nearly 50 years they could have utterly destroyed North America and left it so polluted and toxic no one would have lived there for tens of thousands of years. They didn’t. Assured self-destruction worked. What is the difference here?

Going to war in Iraq serves complex motives for beyond my ken and yours. DARE TO SAY NO AND REFUSE TO BE MANIPULATED BY INVISIBLE AGENDAS. There is no objective reason to go to war. Fears of what might be are as cheap as a million nightmares which never happened. There is no objective reason to go to war. The drumbeats are very queer and are alienating most of the rest of the world and thus are steadily increasing American isolation.

We might add for consideration the thought that if he is attacked, Sodamed Insane most certainly will use them. Look, we know the man is a lunatic. Who will take care of the consequences of provoking a lunatic? Who is willing to own up to responsibility for the possible death of thousands or tens of thousands of Israeli, Euro, or even American civilians?

Frankly the entire situation reminds of Waco Texas and how the Feds just couldn’t allow a religious nut to refuse to cooperate with weapons registration regulations. The Feds found it entirely appropriate to suffer a large of number of poorly educated woman with a large number of children to their death, after subjecting them to a month of intense physical, mental, and emotional TORTURE from intense noise and other harassements.

THE SAME EXACT MENTALITY IS TRYING TO DRUMBEAT YOU INTO SUPPORTING AN INTERNATIONAL WACO.

Yes of course, these drum beaters are all honorable people trying to do their best. The problem is they are too damn stupid to be allowed to have their way. JUST SAY NO.
