LUNAR SCROLLS  ----  PLANET ALIGNMENTS  ----  SKY VIEWS

Intro Notes:

This is a working document in process for various charts and graphs for 2009 and beyond.  Many charts will be added here in the next few days before being linked into other locations.

Primary data source is USN Observatory and the JPL Ephemeris produced under contract for the Pentagon, NASA and other clients.

Seasons and  Orbital Dates By USN Observatory To 2020  - Includes exact timing.

Lunar Scrolls:  These are giant sized horizontal scroll charts which display in a graph form the primary orbital cycles of the Moon - phase, distance from the Earth, and the position of the Moon by latitude in its declination (orbital tilt relative to the Earth's orbit).  Some of these charts are included here because they are part of the storyboard for Perihelion and the Wobble.

Perihelion

The Earth's Perihelion for 2009 is listed by the U.S. Naval Observatory as occurring on January 4 at 1500 hours (UTC).  This is followed immediately (in Cosmic Terms) by a Full Moon In Perigee In The Nearly Extreme Northern Declination.

First chart is the Giant Scrolling Lunar Ephemeris for 2009

Notice that this Full Moon Syzygy for January is very similar to the Syzygy for December 2008.  The main orbital extremes are close, only a little defocused from their parallels in December.  Full Moon (yellow) is January 11/12, just literally hours after a Perigee (blue line) on January 10/11.  This all occurs at nearly the Full Northern Declination, which the Moon reaches on January 9 (orange line).

Obeying the laws of gravity, the first 2009 Full Moon (which is on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun) is in Perigee to draw as close as possible to the gravity suck of both the Earth and the Sun.  At about 28 degrees north of the Equator, it is also literally directly opposite the Sun's position in the Southern Hemisphere at nearly 24 degrees South.  Since the gravity of the Moon is nearly of the same effect as the distant Sun, this is a nearly perfect opposition, tugging the Earth apart at the seams, literally.  Earth's seams are in the Great Rifts in the bottom of the oceans, which marine geologists call "Ridges" after the crumples which line both sides of the deep valley faults where the Earth literally cracks apart to expand the oceanic crust and push it under some of the continents.

Since the opposition is about as extreme as it can get, we can expect greater extremes in numbers and magnitudes of major quakes high in the latitudes on both sides of the Equator as well as in the Equatorial belt itself. In other words, the quake potential is nearly equal throughout the Earth.

Barely perceptible in this scrolling chart is the fact that the extreme monthly angle of the  Moon's orbital declination is constantly decreasing throughout the year.  It will continue to decrease for many years before gradually increasing again in its 18 year Saros Cycle.

Much more noticeable is that the Perigee Lunar Gravity for 2009 will be at maximum strength during the coming week of Perihelion. The Moon is pulled in closer to the Earth at this time and thus the coming Full Moon is about as close to the Earth as it can get at any time.  During the year, Perigee will become weaker and weaker (be further and further apart from the Earth).  In November 09, Perigee will begin to increase and achieve another maximum in January 2010.

After this first Full Moon, the Lunar orbital cycles will defocus and widen the gaps in time between their extreme moments.  By April 09, the New Moon Syzygies, with Northern Extreme Declinations, will be more focused than the Full Moon Syzygies.  These times (April, May, June, July) will become the more active seismic periods.  May, June, and July will see weak Full Moons counterpoise the strong New Moons with extreme Southern Declinations nearly dead on the Full Moon.

These relatively weak syzygies will defocus during August, September, and October and then begin to refocus the lunar strength into the Full Moon Syzygies for November, December, and January 2010.

SUMMARY IMPRESSION for 2009. Not all years are equal and 2009 is one of those. Strictly in terms of orbital factors, lunar influence is less focused during most of 2009.  After this coming Full Moon Triple Whammy, this will be an off-year for quake activity.  Major activity (Class 4+) will be below average and resume average levels or more during the early months of 2010.  Minor activity (Class 2 and 3) may continue to increase in response to the continuously shifting location of the axis, which may be still accelerating its rate of motion (we will probably be uncertain about this until the end of 2009)

Perihelion 2009 - January 4 - 15:00 UTC

January 4, 2009 -source:  Home Planet Software
for details on how this chart works, see Notes

Looking over the "North Pole" of the Sun (which is in the center of this image), we can see the planets of the software shown in "equal orbits" so that they will all fit on the same page.

This diagram shows the positions of the planets at the exact moment of Earth's Perihelion. The Center of the Milky Way Galaxy lies in the direction of the top center of this chart, running on a line from the Sun nearly through Pluto. As of January 2009, the EC Bulletin began using this orientation to project the alignments of the planets.

This chart is very close to the Solstice December 21 Sky Views shown below to depict this same approximate time. (See High Noon Sky) The dates are so close that there is not much difference for most of the planets except for Mercury.

As a sharp eye will notice, Perihelion occurs when the Earth is a little past the bottom center point.  Bottom Center is the moment of the Winter Solstice, the time when the day is shortest in the Northern Hemisphere because the Earth's North Spin Axis (Pole) is tilted as far away from the Sun as possible.  This means the heaviest side (the Southern Hemisphere) is pointed towards the Sun to be as close as it can be to the Sun's gravity.  It takes just about another two full weeks of time for the Earth to actually reach Perihelion from the Solstice moment.  Astrophysicists claim that this lag time is caused by the cosmic flight of the entire Solar System.  The Sun and its planets are moving linearly around the Galaxy at a very rapid clip and thus it takes the Earth's orbit about an extra two weeks to "catch up" with the Sun and make its closest approach.

This means that the exact moment of Perihelion is always slightly out of phase, very slightly, with the alignment between GC and the Sun.  The tilt of the Earth's axis, however, is always exactly perfectly in phase with the alignment of GC and the Sun. After the instantaneous moment of the Solstice, the Earth's axis begins to shift the Northern Hemisphere back to face the Sun, which finally happens on the Summer Solstice almost exactly six months later.  The Perihelion moment, which is a literally  a speed-up of mass motion in time, two weeks later, likely adds to the re-orientation of the axis and some of this energy ends up in the motion of the Earth's Wobble.

At the bottom center of the chart one can find the opposite direction from the Center of the Galaxy.  One of the most prominent features of the night sky in that direction is the constellation Orion and the bright star Sirius.  It of course will be the Midnight Sky View of January 4, 2009.  It can also be found below.

During the Summer Solstice, one can see that the Earth will be on the center top of the orbits.  The Earth will move between the strongest gravity vector of both the Sun and the GC at the moment of Summer Solstice.  This of course elongates the orbit somewhat, drawing the Earth away from the Sun, though less now than former times because of the presence of Sirius and other attractors on the opposite side of the Sun.

Some more charts for comparing of Solstices, including for 12-21-2012 can be found below under SOME TANGENTS.

But first, best to to to Sky Views.

Sky Views for Perihelion

First High Noon - Sun Aligned With Galactic Central

 - chart is below this panel
- crosshair is the center of the sky directly overhead, Sun is small circle a little below it

We begin actually with the night sky for the December 21 Solstice as drawn by the MICA JPL ephemeris software ( which is highly suitable for terrestrial navigation).  The December Solstice is technically a better beginning date for any calendrical system.  In this first chart for high noon (UTC) we can see the Sun nearly perfectly aligned with Sagittarius and the Center of the Galaxy (GC).  Note that from Earth, Mars appears right beside the Sun.  You can compare this with the Home Planet Diagram for January 4, 2009 and you will see that the Earth is now turning around the Sun and will be pulled back on the right hand side of this chart back towards Galactic Center.

Keep in mind that the Sun and the entire solar system as a "cloud of matter" are rushing headlong towards approximately Vega which is about three fourths of the way up this chart, just a little to the left of the center of the chart.  After the Earth turns in its orbit to head in the same direction towards Vega, it will take literally another two weeks for the Earth to catch up with and accelerate towards the Sun and GC to reach its Perihelion (closest approach to the Sun). Note how the Moon at this time is now ahead of the Earth in its orbit, adding to the draw of the Earth back towards Galactic Center.  At New Moon on December 28, the Moon has added as much energy as it can to drawing the Earth towards the Sun and GC, thereafter the Moon will begin to drag on the Earth and reach maximum drag a few days (on January 11) after Perihelion (January 4).

This drag and opposition between the orbits is what creates the stress in the Earth's crust, produces the Wobble, the slow shifting of the axis, and generates the motions of the tectonic plates which produce the Great Rift, the subduction zones, and both quake and volcanic activity.

This opposition is about as maximum as it can be in 2009 between January 4 and January 11.  To make this more complex, sometimes this maximum opposition is in December.  To make this even more complex, sometimes the New Moon occurs during the Perihelion and there is no opposition energy.  To make this cosmically mystical, an 18.5 year cycle called the Saros Cycle increases and decreases the angle of the torque in the Full Moon opposition.  And to turn this all into a circus of impossibilities for keeping tally, a 13 month cycle in the distance of the Moon from the Earth goes in and out of synch with the Perihelion.

Confused?  Me too.  Only super computers will be able to keep track of this and model it out for us.  This actually is an important thing to do because I can keep track enough to already know that the Astrophysicists of today are using the wrong concepts to explain how the Earth's motions occur. They have the wobble all wrong because their fancy math does not actually "see" the actual cosmix mechanics of the Earth's orbit.  In the Gallery section, I will eventually get this all painted out so that all can see it.

Anyway back to the High Noon chart below.  If you go the distance of about two A's directly below the A next to the Sun (small round circle) on the central Meridian of the Chart (imaginary vertical line which divides the chart in two), you will find Galactic Central.  Since it is a nebula cloud sort of thing, not a star object, it does not show on this chart.

Note how all the heavy planets are arrayed on the Galactic Central side of the Sun, all neatly in the line of the ecliptic.  This is typical, generally the weight of the Solar System Mass is to be found during Earth's Perihelion in this current age on the GC side of the Sun.

After looking at the Sky View immediately below, check out the one for the December 21 1901 Solstice, just below it.  Pretty much the same, isn't it?  At the Galactic Center (or just slightly above it next to the Sun) Mercury and Uranus have replaced Mars.  But the Sun | GC alignment is so similar, how is it possible to pin a major multi-millennial change upon a virtually undetectable difference in locations? Isn't the "influence", whatever it is, going to be exactly the same?

Night Skies for 2009

First Midnight - Sun Aligned With Galactic Central On Solstice

Standing on the equator and looking to the South, if one looks at the midnight night sky for the 2008 Winter Solstice (which is almost exactly 12 hours or 180 degrees opposite the moment of Solstice Alignment with the Sun, one finds the constellation Orion almost exactly dead center (Zenith) in the Mid-Heavens on the Middle of the Central Vault of the Stars (the Meridian). The three "belt stars", which the ancient Egyptians used to pattern the Three Great Pyramids in the Temple of the Sun on Giza sail right through the center point.  These three, bright enough, are punctuated above them a little to the North by Betelguese and to the South by Rigel.  Only a few degrees to the left of Rigel and a little to the South is Syrius.  Between these bright stars we have three of the ten brightest seen on Earth.

Sirius is so close to our sun that humans can actually view its relative motion compared to the other stars. About the size of our Sun, Sirius is about 8 light years away. This may be one of the gravity attractors which aligns the Earth's orbit at Solstice/Perihelion to form the straight line from Orion's Belt through the Earth and Sun to the Center of the Galaxay.

There are some other significant factors to help.  Betelguese is some 650 light years away but it is about 1000 times the size of the Sun, in fact it is the largest known Sun and its size allows humans to actually photograph it as a "disk". Most other stars are seen only as points of light even with the greatest of telescopes.

Rigel is some 700 to 900 light years away and is about 500 times as bright as our Sun.  Since astronomers are still unsure of its distance, they are still unsure of its size. Google defines "Rigel is a Blue supergiant at 17 solar masses", with some 40,000 times more luminosity than our Sun.  That definition seems self-contradictory.

In any event these huge stars are also accompanied by Canopus in the Southern sky.  Second in brightness only to Sirius, Canopus lies near the N-S Mid Heaven line and many degrees below Sirius. Canopus is also about 700 light years, some 15,000 times more luminous than our Sun.

This density on the line of the N-S Mid-Heaven, centered around the Zenith in 180 degree opposition to the Sun AT the moment of Solstice, is almost certainly NO RANDOM connection. What this connection probably reveals is that the current structure of the Earth's orbit is partially entrained by the very long distance gravity influences of both the Center of the Galaxy and the star cluster of Orion/Sirius/Canopus.  This star cluster now partially opposes or cancels out the Galactic and Solar gravity vectors and this probably now makes the Earth's orbit "more round" in this era of Earth's long history. (The shape is known to change through time, in accordance with certain 100,000 year  cycles and others). With Sirius/Orion/Canopus opposing the Sun's vector during Perihelion, the Earth is drawn a little less closer to the Sun than it would be if Sirius were absent.

These simple facts probably explains some of the climate cycles of the Earth.  These orbital factors vary significantly in long cycles and these cycles are definitely connected with changes in the Earth's orbital shape.  Major vectors outside the solar system (such as GC and Sirius, but by no means limited to these) acting in concert to add or detract from the influences of the planets probably determines all aspects of the orbital cycles, but a clear astro-historical profile has yet to be defined by humanity..

Since there is not much difference between a December 21 and a January 5 Sky View, the latter is not included.

SOME TANGENTS

December 21, 2008  -- Solstice

If the date for the first chart was December 21 (the Winter Solstice), we would see the Earth on the exact bottom center of its orbit pointing more directly to Sirius in the direction from the bottom or towards GC in the direction of the top.  Take a look at this Solstice Chart for 2008.

Notice how quickly Mercury moves compared to all the other stars and planets.  In hardly two weeks of time, Mercury moves nearly 20 degrees (of the solar system circumference) to almost  catch Venus.  Compared to the other planets, Mercury is hauling serious ass. (To see this effect, view chart above  first and then view this chart to see the relative motion).

December 21, 2008 - source:  Home Planet Software

Tangent A:  Notice how the weight of the solar system was more in the upper portion of this diagram.

Tangent B:  Notice in passing also the green and blue colors on the orbit lines.  Do you see how the blues are all in synch on the right side, which will correspond to the next six months?  Do you see how the greens are on the left side, which will correspond to the last six months of the coming year? They reveal a profoundly important reality for which none of the astro-mathematicians have yet deduced a cause.  Their mathematics has not shown them this reality, it takes a software graphic to see it and it probably will take a software graphic projection to find the cause.  Obviously, something it tilting the solar system or the Earth and this tilt is currectly at nearly a right angle to the motion of the Solar System as a whole towards Vega.  It cannot be GC and it is not any of the visible planets in the solar system.  If one uses Home Planet Software to view a few thousand years of planetary motions, one discovers that the tilt in the orbit of Jupiter precesses at the rate of 56 degrees during the course of 5000 years, nearly exactly.   That is 0.0112 decimal points of a degree per year for a full cycle of 360 degrees. In time, that is 32,142.86 years of precession, as reckoned in Earth orbits.  Any Earth orbit/climate cycles in this range? Deserves some serious looking.

Tangent C:  Are Tangents A and B related? From here the hunt begins.  I will leave this for more advanced computer modeling and more exotic astro-mathematical fairie dust than my paltry efforts can command.

December 12, 2012 - Solstice.

Dec 21 11:11 UTC

What to make of the near cult-like following of December 21, 2012. I cannot make much of it from the stars and the planets.  It is a solstice not unlike the one for 2008.  The main difference will be a much more energetic Sun and planetary alignments will greatly stimulate the production of sunspots.  Other than that, the stars and planets will have about the same influence then as they have now.

Notice the weight of the solar system is still in the upper half, but less so than previously.  The arrangement is also fairly wide, as in 2008, but this will be in the midst of a series of planetary alignments.

Jupiter will shine brightly overhead a portion of the early night somewhat to the west of Orion and Sirius.  Earth and Jupiter probably caused some serious Sunspot Activity which in turn probably sent a major wave of highly energetic storm fronts over the continents.

Here is the weather forecast.  This will be a very stormy November and December, very near or during Solar Cycle #24 MAX.  Five planetary alignments involving the inner planets during the last two months.  LOTS of solar activity, magnetic disturbances, CME's, ionic hits on the Earth. Very aggressive late Fall and early Winter weather, huge storms, several major waves of hard, wet, flooding storms pushing over the continents.

Here is the Human Emotional Wavefront:  Pathos will roil with greater fury than now.  All negativities and conflicts which were unresolved during Cycle 23 MAX from 1999-2004, will be greatly energized once again. Wars and rumors of wars will be proliferating once again.

Notice that the ONLY thing "special" about 12-21-2012 is the timing of when the Earth perfectly aligns with Galactic Central at the same time as it aligns with the Sun.  But of course it does this during every Solstice.  Every Winter Solstice.

It is just a marker point of position on one spot of the Earth which synchs into the alignment at an exact time.

SO WHAT???

Oh, well, yes, there is the small matter of the alignment theoretically crossing over an imaginary line for the speculatively calculated central plane of the Milky Way Galaxy.  People actually believe that has significance, I guess, because it is widely repeated.  Which is pretty amazing given the fact that we humans CANNOT even see the entire Milky Way Galaxy, which means that we have not a clue where the central plane imaginary line should be drawn.

So just what is being talked about?  Well, we can guess?  Well, yes we can, but again, so what?

Beyond this, whatever it is I don't get it.  It sounds more and more to me either like a scary Boogieman, if that's your thing, or like the Tooth Fairy, for those who are into Ascending into Immortality.  I think this is the Jiminy Cricket Church of Imaginology.  Just wish upon a star...ta da!

Here is what the stars portend for prophecy. "In all the Universe, Dear Asclepius", the Thrice Great Hermes was overheard to say, "there is the constancy only of change itself. Even the course of the immortal planets and stars in their appointed rounds continually change, always just enough to introduce infinite variation and occasional randomness in the deeds of all things. The vagaries of the gods themselves mock all prophecy which is bound to the calendars of mortals.   Even the wise men of Egypt and Maya admit they cannot foretell the timing of either  the beginnings or the endings.  If they could, there would be no questions, no quests, no wise men, nor any fools.  Seek, oh Asclepius,  the constancy of being not in the timing of the flux of things, which have no meaning in the Halls of the Immortals, but in the Great Universal Truth which transmutes all things."

January 4, 1901 - Perihelion.

source:  Home Planet Software

1901 Perihelion, randomly selected 107 years ago, .  Notice that the greatest mass in the solar system is still in the upper half oriented toward GC.  Notice that the blue and green lines are virtually the same at nearly a right angle to the GC | Sun alignment.

GC = Galactic Center of the  Milky Way Galaxy

This reveals a definite structure to the solar system which is profoundly important. It reveals a fundamental aspect of the structure of our space  time.

It doubtless reveals a more important locus of influence over the Earth and the Solar System than GC or Sirius.

What is it?

Take a serious look at ARCTURUS.  Is it the Sun of our Sun.

It is the closest major vector out there.  At 25 light years, it is a giant which is vastly larger than our Sun.

Is our Sun speeding towards the current location of Vega as it revolves around Arcturus?  Edgar Cayce said as much 70 years ago.  His reading on it is even more plausible today.
