Despite an inactive Sun with very few disturbances or storms and with no Sunspots, this prominence was "snared" yesterday.

CORRECTIONS:  Yes, it is F16's passing overhead, not F116's. They are still coming daily.  BONUS:  I believe all links below on this page now work properly. Sorry for the confusions - I was not properly relativising my links to the actual server structure.

COSMIC FACTORS:  

The Sunspot Count was zip all week and the Flux was 67 until rising to 68 on May 11, which is about as low as it ever gets.  There are no coronal holes, no solar wind, and no disturbances in the Earth's atmosphere.  Alaska's Fluxgate Monitor Graph  shows  not much because of the low ebb in solar activity. Despite the torpor, another major prominence was seen as is shown in the great pix above.  The Planetary A Magnetic Index (upper atmosphere field strength) is stable at about 5. Any disturbances in the next week are likely to be at  low levels.  For the next 48 hours, NASA predicts a 1%  or less probability of major explosive or flare events on the Sun with a 5% to 25% probability of major magnetic disturbances in the Earth's atmosphere in the higher latitudes.  For more details on current sun go here.   For Daily Sun, go to Spaceweather.  The planetary alignments of May 11 have already lost their influence (they lost it a week ago) and it will take at least another two to three weeks to build Solar Flux for the next alignment of Mercury and Earth on June 6 or so.  Watch out for June 6, when Mercury | Earth with Mars still closely aligned with Saturn.  This double header likely will spritz up considerable Solar Activity about the beginning of June and this activity may be on par or even more energetic than the March surge of 67 Sunspots.  Watch again for Mercury and Jupiter to align about June 17 with Earth in near alignment with both.  The middle of June should easily exceed March in overall storminess and the weather may not "normalize" until July. ATMOSPHERICS:    All weather patterns are normalizing and are presently little influenced by Solar Activity.  La Nina has dissolved as did the North Atlantic Oscillation.  But curiously the North Pacific Gyre Hot Spot is re-emerging.  Movement towards El Nino appears to have collapsed, making this cycle advent impossible to predict at the moment but the seven year wobble cycle suggests that it should appear this year.   This sounds like it might be good news but  the horribly huge and violent cyclone in the Indian Ocean augers an Atlantic Hurricane Season which could be far more memorable this year than the last two years.    MAY'S EXTREMES IN CYCLONES (Myanmar) AND TORNADOES (N.A. Midwest & Plains) PLAINLY AND ABSOLUTELY ARE NOT A RESULT OF STIMULUS FROM THE SUN NOR NATURAL NOR HUMAN-CAUSED CONDITIONS IN THE ATMOSPHERE.  This can only by Global Warming Syndrome, showing us what the new weather "normal" is becoming as the Earth's oceans continue to gradually warm.  Cooler than normal water persists along most of the western coast of North America and it is still producing significant wind activity.  Warmer than normal water is building again in the central Pacific. Together, these hot and cold patches are likely to torque a very wet Jet Stream to the extreme north and then suck it down the continental western plains of North America before it turns again over Colorado to push the wet cool air from the north to collide with the warm wet air from the Carib.  Even if Hurricanes are not prolific, huge Thunderstorms through central North America likely will be during the Summer months. Accordingly, weather during May through August most likely will be more energetic, more chaotic and less easy to predict.  Major storms with some extreme patterns are likely during mid-May (occurred as predicted) and the extreme tornadoes in the mid-west (which are probably induced by Global Warming)  may be a herald of what is roaring down the pike as a result of the coming alignment of Mercury with the Earth about June 6.   Hurricane and tornado season is now predicted to be substantially greater than last year but that will not require much, given the collapse of Atlantic Hurricane phenomenon during 2007.  Super storms are clearly on the way and this is already looking like a good year for a good crop of them.  Most likely Atlantic hurricane seasons will not become record-makers again until 2010, but as we just saw in Myanmar, another nasty punch or two this year is entirely possible.  Neither La Nina, El Nino, nor other ocean oscillations are going to interfere with ocean climate regimes this year, insofar as it looks at the moment, neither is the Sun, which is still in a MIN phase of activity.  Thus the result will be pretty much pure "Global Warming" syndrome, mightily influenced throughout the Northern Hemisphere by the North Central Pacific Gyre.  In general, NOAA believes this year is going to be hotter and drier than normal for much of North America.  For the ten days, weather will be hotter than normal along the western and mountain states and cooler than normal in all states east of the Mississippi with much cooler conditions ruling the Great Lakes Mid Western area.

 GEOPHYSICAL FACTORS:    No new news on the Wobble this week as it continues to expand.   No major change from prior weeks.   See Polar Motion for additional information.  The Moon's cycles are now moving into closer synchronicity for May and June. AS PREDICTED:  lunar influence on the tectonic plates should now begin to increase quake and volcanic activity and produce larger spikes in frequency and magnitude, beginning approximately next week.  THIS CONDITION WILL PERSIST THROUGH MUCH OF JUNE with  the usual ups and downs in activity levels.  The Moon is  waxing rapidly and is already nearly halfway to Full which it will reach on May 20.  Its orbit is at close to the average distance but it is still fairly far to the North, in the range of 25 degrees north of the Equator.  It will approach its Extreme Southern Declination on May 21,  just one day after Full.   Expect a stronger surge in tectonic motion for a few days between May 18 and May 24 but keep in mind that the Moon will be in Apogee during this time, its furthest point from the Earth.  Thus its influence should be slightly less than during the previous Full Moon phase.  There will be another similar weak synchronization in June of 2008, then strong dis-synchronization until November 2008. November will begin a new round of synchronized Lunar cycles, with December producing the strongest synchronization of the year in a near perfect alignment with the Earth's Perihelion, during both the New Moon (Dec. 27/28) and Full Moon (Dec. 13). These then are likely months of the greatest quake events and these are likely to exceed the tectonic activity of April/ May/June.   THIS IS LIKELY NOW WRONG INSOFAR AS MAJOR AND GREAT QUAKES GO:  "For the most part 2008 is likely to be a "middling year" for seismic activity, perhaps even slightly diminished from 2006/2007 levels."   This may be still true for the total number of Class 4 and Class 5 quakes.  See The Lunar Cycle  for more details.  For quakes go to Earthquakes. 

KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF INTERESTING PATTERNS OF SEISMIC ACTIVITY.  I AM VERY SORRY TO SEE SO MANY PEOPLE IN CHINA BEAR THE BRUNT OF IT.  Earthquake activity Class 4+ at the current time is running berserkly above average in frequency and magnitude.  Two Major Quakes stuck in Japanese water last week, attended by a swarm of Class 4+ precursor and aftershocks.  Yesterday at least one Class 6 quake and a guestimated 7.9 quake have struck in China's high plateau province of Sichuan, accompanied by dozens of Class 4 and Class 5 quakes.  At this moment, as is often the case when the Earth ruptures in a Great Quake, nearly the entire world's seismic events in Class 4+ are occurring in China.  There are two exceptions, both of real interest.   One is a Class 4 quake at or near Kodiak Island in Alaska, which is also receiving exceptional stress from the same northwest trending Pacific Ocean plate which is stressing East Asia.  The other exception is a Class 4 quake in the North Atlantic Great Rift.  This may be an important signal of more stress and tectonic motion building shape-shifting waves for another round of Major or Great Quakes in the Pacific Rim.  During late April and early May, many Class 4 quakes struck in the Atlantic Rifts.  These were followed by an increase in subduction quakes in North America and a build up of Class 4+ frequency in the Western Pacific subduction zones, especially around Australia.  Then suddenly Class 4 quakes struck widely through the east-west belt of lower Eurasia from the Aegean Sea through the Himalayas through China to Taiwan.  Then suddenly, the high plateau faults in Sichuan suddenly gave way in a long continental shape adjustment which was felt as far away as Pakistan and Peking.  Is another round of rifting now commencing?  If so, more Class 4 quakes will be recorded in the Atlantic and East Pacific Rise during the coming two weeks or so.  Will these be followed by another round of Eurasian/Japan/Alaskan quakes?  If so, we will confirm a profound pattern of whole Earth shape-shifting and the nature of  geophysics will suddenly pivot to enter new intellectual water. Timing? Doubtless the Full Moon coming or the following New Moon (plus or minus a few days each).  Stay tuned.  This may make scientific history.

Meanwhile,  world volcanism is still on an upward surge and in fact certain recent eruptions may have been heralds of the Sichuan Great Quake. I identified Etna as one of the five most important heralds or signals of tectonic activity in the Earth's crust some ten years ago.  On May 10/11, Class 4 quakes began to sprout through the vast South Eurasian belt, from the Aegean to Taiwan.  On May 11, Etna, having stood quietly for many weeks, suddenly flared into an ash and lava eruption, accompanying Karymsky on Kamchatka which emitted a new ash explosion.  These eruptions followed new or renewed ash eruptions earlier in the week from Balbi on Bougainville Island, Rabual on Papua New Guinea, and a few others.  Then in the afternoon on May 11 only hours after Etna signaled an increase in Eurasian tectonic activity, the Great Quake struck in Sichuan.

Currently the Active List is at 34 (up one for Balbi), the Restless List is at 4, and the Alert List is at 78.  Ash and lava eruptions have been reported this past week in many of the active list volcanoes, Chaiten in Chile is still in a major eruption, rejoined now with Rabual in the South Pacific. Kilauea STILL remains incredibly productive of lava flowing into the ocean with both ash and sulfur dioxide emissions.  Popo and Colima are cooking more slowly, as are most of the Carib Plate regulars.   Erebus, Stromboli, Yasur, and Arenal continue their long ever-lasting eruptions.  (These typically produce lava lakes, lava fountains, and strombolian explosions). Click here for more details on this Volcano Season.   This year's peak volcano activity is likely to form up in May and June and once again in December 08, in synchronicity with the lunar cycles.  January's Volcano prediction looks pretty good:  "In accordance with past wobble cycles and the general average trend of increase in volcanic activity, I expect that volcanic activity during 2008 will be about the same as 2007 or abate by a small percentage."

GEO-ECONOMIC FLUX - -  INFLATION IS SOARING....AS PREDICTED HERE SINCE 2004.  ALL STIMULUS WILL MERELY RECYCLE MORE MONEY INTO THE ROBBER BARONS, THUS INCREASING THE BUBBLES FOR A HARDER CRASH A LITTLE LATER, OR INTO THE RAPIDLY GROWING URBANIZED PILES OF WEALTH WHICH HAVE MADE THE GULF STATES THE WORLD'S PRIMARY ECONOMIC GROWTH ZONE OUTSIDE OF CHINA.   FOR NORTH AMERICA, STAGFLATION - SOARING PRICES WITH NO REAL EXPANSION.  Have no doubts it will continue to soar as will the level of world rioting. Congratulations your leaders have kindly stepped up to the table of international settlements and you are now paying for the Tragedy in Iraq (and Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the Travesty in Washington DC and New York).  Vat good Germans you are. The silver lining in all this?  Iraq is bankrupting the Empire.  Oops.  All falls down.  In four to eight years the Imperial Faction will be permanently out of power in North America, sixty years of rotten politics and stinking lies will finally be lifted from the souls of the Americans.  But in the meanwhile, make sure your family is ready to ride out two to six years of hard economic times.  The slide from this point will keep on going in a downward direction.  For additional details go to Geo-Political-Economics.

GEOPOLITICAL FLUX - -   THE F16 FLY-BY'S IN BLACK CANYON CITY CONTINUE EVERY DAY, CLEARLY INDICATING THAT A MAJOR ROTATION OF PLANES AND PILOTS IS UNDERWAY OR WILL COMMENCE SOON - Because of the cowardice of the American people and their political institutions, THE WAR RISK IS RISING EVERY WEEK.  PREPARATIONS TO SET THE STAGE KEEP ADVANCING AND THE AGIT-PROP CAMPAIGN TO BRAINWASH THE SHEEPLE HAS CLEARLY COMMENCED.

AS PREDICTED PREVIOUSLY -  The assessment below stands. KEEP PARAMOUNT IN MIND THAT THE FAILURE OF THE COWARDLY LIONS, AKA THE OIL-SOAKED DEMOCRATS, TO CONFRONT DARTH CHENEY AND REQUIRE AN END TO THE BRUTAL U.S. OPPRESSION IN IRAQ WILL BE, I REPEAT, WILL BE CITED IN THE ANNALS OF HISTORY AS ONE OF THE PRIMARY FACTORS WHICH EMBOLDENED THE CHENEY/CIA/MOSSAD CLIQUES TO PRECIPITATE ANOTHER ROUND OF MILITARY ADVENTURISM AND WAR CRIMES IN THE MIDDLE EAST. It is fully the equivalent of Chamberlain's craven cave-in to Hitler, from which World War II began.   The likely nomination of Obama may be the primary factor which is pushing the Imperial Faction into increasing the destablization of the Middle East at this time - they are going to "do" what they can while the "doing" is good.  The only thing we do not know at this time is the principle target, the actual strategy plan. Don't expect that anybody on the outside has "guessed" what they intend to do. 

STANDING ASSESSMENT:  Strategic plans and manipulations are obviously underway to push the envelope on existing conditions. The recent trips by Cheney and Bush-McCain to the Middle East, along with military redeployments, suggest strongly that the Imperial Faction is arranging the stage of history for the next act. The risk of another major False Flag Terrorism incident may be building rapidly.  Some project as early as May 2008, some are more inclined to posit the early Fall, in time to sway the U.S. elections for the "Return of the Gipper" John McCain.  The recent sacking of Admiral Fallon as Supreme U.S. Commander In the Middle East, who is widely known for his belief that increased military activity is not appropriate for U.S. national interests, is the most obvious tip-off.  Many scenarios are possible, but a contrived false flag operation against Israel may be the preferred operation.  Such an operation is far less likely to be scrutinized by hostile eyes because it will be too far removed.  Israel could then rationalize a national war response, recycling all the Bush rhetorical garbage, engage in strikes against its next target (likely the brutalization of Syria), and thus force the hands of all parties into a series of responses which escalate into U.S. and Iranian intervention and mutual war.  THUS THERE IS  A RISK OF FALSE-FLAG TERRORIST OPERATIONS INSTIGATED BY RIGHT-WING THUG ELEMENTS IN THE CIA, MOSSAD, MK5, AND ALLIED MOBS WORKING AS AGENTS FOR AN INTERNATIONAL CABAL composed of Anglo-American-Jewish elements through to Spring, possibly October 2008.

The Changes In The Earth - Global Summary

A RECENT CHART DEFINES "THE CHANGE IN THE EARTH". Click to see the threefold trend in world quake activity 4+ for 1973-2007. This increase in seismic energy is signaling all the other Changes In The Earth, including Global Warming.  Daily average frequency of 4+ quakes has risen from 11 in 1973 to about 35 in 2007.  The average rose dramatically during 2005/06 and is currently lower.  The daily average for 2007 will probably rise a little by the end of the year and may rise more slowly during the next few years.  Statistics are tricky master illusionists so be careful with this following thought:  an exponential growth curve can be drawn through earthquake data 4+ to project another DOUBLING of the current frequency by about 2020.
