You have heard of the Weather Report? Here exclusively is this week’s "Earth Report" - a short review of the "big picture" about how the dynamic changes in the Sun and the Earth are effecting our lives more and more intensely, with the latest prognostications and predictions for weathermen, farmers, investors, businessmen, and every man.

On the geophysical front, for the most part quakes CONTINUED TO BE subdued and volcanoes were down slightly, The Earth’s July shape-shifting appears to be mainly over, but a 4.8 and a 4.3 struck the edges of the Antarctic Plate at a new location, bringing the number of "margin" sites to at least seven, and a 7.1 quake ripped South Island New Zealand, Thursday August 21, possibly making the total effectively now about 8. The Sun at the moment is subdued with sunspots at 77 on August 19. Yet despite the abatement in the Sun, strange "heat flashes" (not related to typical syndromes) in sensitives continue, the weather is berserk in many areas and global climate changes add up to more than volcanism, sunspots, and greenhouse gas buildup. SOMETHING OUT THERE IS VERY STRANGE and it is most probably connected with energy streaming from the Sun beyond the range of current human monitoring. NO SIGN YET OF A NORMAL AUGUST on any front and most likely sunspots are headed back up, to peak between August 25 to September 5, most likely over 200. For Europe, the heat will continue, then break in September and be followed by immense rains and floods.

Most news media do not handle technical and scientific subjects like geology and earth sciences very well. They don't understand the causes and effects of activities in the Sun and Earth. Accordingly, they often do not understand if, when, how, why to report earthquakes, volcanic activity, global warming effects The treatment often sounds absent-minded, poorly qualified, and frequently contains various technical errors. We live in such a radically degraded social environment, polluted by 60 years of lying contrivances in a great many of the fundamental aspects of our nation, it is now very difficult to determine, really, what is happening and why. Along with this, nearly all forms of attachments and browser downloads of "special" plug-ins MUST GO INTO THE DUST BIN. Almost none of this stuff is necessary or even useful, it is just go go "wienie" appeal stuff which sets people up for passing the worm and virus infections. Dump it.

"IONIZING SOLAR BOMBARDMENTS" & MASS BEHAVIOR

FORECAST ON MASS BEHAVIOR: Expect a larger escalation yet during the next 30 days in berserk violence, active guerilla warfare with bombings and sabotage, and international political machinations by many parties, esp. the Imperial Faction which is seeking to broaden world involvement in Iraq at no net cost to U.S. power.

The coincidence of a regional shutdown in the U.S. followed by a regional shut down in the Republic of Georgia, both of which are frontline states in the Islamic Jihad against the West, has people on the Iway speculating that EMF PULSE WEAPONS MAY HAVE BEEN IN PLAY. Such weapons could CAUSE POWER GRID SHUTDOWNS ANYWHERE AROUND THE WORLD and would be attendant by other kinds of strange phenomenon of the type which is being reported through Rense.com.

These incidents would certainly fit the jidahist promise of a "Big Surprise" for the U.S., much more so than the bombings this week.. They would also fit the standard tactical approach of Al Qaeda. Namely, they announce something is about to happen, they plant false clues to lead authorities on wild goose chases (this time around it was the false clue of attacks involving airplanes), they carry it off, and they almost never announce that they did it.

Steady as she goes. As previously reported, a slow acceleration in the shifting of the poles has been underway for perhaps the past 100 years and the last three decades has shown an increase in the rate of acceleration.

No news since last report: a slow acceleration of the rate of drift towards the spin axis is underway.

The next planetary alignment on (approximately) September 10 during a Full Moon will be composed of a "loose" alignment (not a strict straight line) between Mercury | Earth | Mars.

This follow-on alignment, with Mercury adding its intense attractor focusing power to the Earth | Mars combination, MAY CREATE THE BIGGEST SUNSPOT PEAK OF 2003 RIGHT AROUND THE FIRST FEW DAYS OF SEPTEMBER.

As can be seen, the sunspots peaked on August 6 at 155 and have been hovering between 77 and 121 this past two weeks. The count dropped to a little less than 100 and then peaked again on August 11 at 118. After dropping again, they peaked August 17 at 114 or so. These two minor peaks (predicted a month ago) most likely correspond to the planetary alignments of the past two weeks.

CONFIRMED: The Earth’s magnetic atmosphere is merging rapidly with Mars and this huge circuit in the solar system will draw out the heavy solar activity, sunspots, and emissions. I predict that we are going to see a distinctly "third" peak in Sunspot Cycle 23, produced by the high average counts of sunspots during July and August 2003.

AS PREDICTED LAST WEEK ( Aurora watching should be good for the remainder of the month), NASA reported: "AURORA SURPRISE: On August 18th, Northern Lights appeared as far south as California and Arizona in the United States. The display was a surprise. It was triggered by the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF), which unexpectedly tilted south after a knotty magnetic structure in the solar wind drifted past our planet. South-pointing IMFs promote strong geomagnetic activity."

NASA REPORTS & PREDICTS: "An explosion near sunspot 431 on August 19th (1005 UT) hurled a coronal mass ejection (CME) into space. The outskirts of the CME might reach Earth on August 21st. More likely the expanding cloud will miss; it was not squarely Earth-directed. Nevertheless, high-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras after nightfall on August 21st. That's when Earth is expected to encounter a solar wind stream flowing from a coronal hole on the Sun.

NASA predicts low probability of solar flares and storms today but the Sun remains highly charged and unstable. THE CME explosion yesterday is likely only the first round of CME’s, flares, and solar storms which will be induced by the Earth | Mars alignment.

When it does come it is extremely scattered, producing sudden extreme downpours, like the 3 inches of rain which fell in a 20 minute period during the past 24 hours in the Las Vegas area (Nevada).

AS REPORTED LAST WEEK: The intense heat wave in Europe so far has produced some 5,000 to 10,000 deaths in France, which is not commonly equipped with air conditioners , according to French experts. The nuclear power industry in Europe is demonstrating that there is no such thing as an independent source of energy. The hot solar-storm induced drought in Europe has dried up the rivers to such an extent that they cannot cool the reactors enough to maintain energy production. (Wait till late September when they get socked with the coming floods).

It is becoming increasingly apparent for a lot of people that something other than mere sunspot counts, flares, and ion flows are impacting the Earth. I became aware today that many women are reporting a much larger incidence of disturbance in menstrual cycles, people all of the Earth keep reporting an increase in the intensity of the "burning" of skin, indeed yesterday I experienced a sudden reddening of the face after a half an hour of meditation in the morning sun under partially cloudy skies with a lot of water vapor in it. Since my skin is fairly brown as it is from living for five years in the foothills just off the Sonoran desert plain, and since I constantly get substantial exposure to the Sun all year long, I AM QUITE CERTAIN THAT THIS WAS NOT A NORMAL SUNBURN.

At 3:00 PM Arizona time, both Annette, my adopted daughter, and I here at Big Sky Ranch experienced the onset of intense burning or heat flash feelings inside our bodies. We are both sitting inside an air conditioned ranch house and the sky is at least 50 percent overcast with thunderheads, and the outside air temperature is relatively low, no greater than 90, if that.

Is it coming from ionizing radiation? Is it coming from X-rays or even possibly Gamma rays coming from the Sun? There has been an increase in X ray energy coming from the Sun and this should be studied in detail. But I suspect that this is not nearly enough to account for the strange effects we are experiencing.

I HIGHLY SUSPECT THAT WE ARE DEALING WITH ENERGY FORMS ON THE FOURTH DIMENSION – AND I AM BEGINNING TO FORM THE HYPOTHESIS THAT THIS IS PART OF SOME SORT OF SCALAR WAVE FLUCTUATION COMING FROM THE SUN. I believe that this fluctuation is probably directly related to the Earth’s approach to Mars, along with the approach of Mercury to this rapidly forming alignment.

The difficulty with all of this is that we cannot directly measure this "Y" waveform output from the Sun. Or least we could not previously.

CONFIRMED – THIS PREDICTION:

AS PREDICTED LAST WEEK: Definitely by about the 12^th of August, the Full Moon, things should be getting highly energized. From that point on everything will continue to be experienced as "off" kilter and then EXPECT EXTREME CONDITIONS for the remainder of August, STRANGE, UNPREDICTABLE, DESTRUCTIVE WEATHER PATTERNS EVERYWHERE. The Earth’s atmosphere will once again become HUGELY OVERBURDENED WITH ENERGY, DUST, WATER VAPOR, AND IONIC INFLUX.

STANDING PAT ON THIS ONE THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF SEPTEMBER

AS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED: Ethiopia, East Africa, and Northern India are in dire straits. Severe damage is destroying the eco-system and the human cultures. Nothing here is likely to improve during the next four months.

SOUTHWEST CONDITIONS: SOMEWHAT BETTER

For the most part close to NO MONSOON AT ALL IN THE PACIFIC SOUTHWEST during the first two weeks of August but substantial relief has come to portions this past week, especially along the Mogollon rim.

I am happy to CONTINUE to report this week that the Snowflake area is sporting weather conditions which are far more comfortable than on the Sonoran plain. Night time temperatures are below 60, allowing a complete cool down from the daytime highs which have ranged from 80 to 100. "Cool" summers are widely advertised for the White Mountains area and they appear to be right (and of course it’s all relative, what is cool here is a record breaking scorcher in England).

EUROPE CONDITIONS

Conditions in Europe have been extremely adverse in many areas. Since these have been so well reported in normal media I will not repeat them here. Adverse conditions will continue throughout Europe and this difficult summer may culminate in major floods during September.

This non-syzygy period performed about as one might suspect. Major quake activity was way down in both frequency and magnitude from the prior week. No 6.0 quakes or greater were recorded and the highest number of quakes, 27 occurred on August 14, just two days after the Full Moon. The other days averaged around 10 quakes of 2.5 mag plus.

Quake activity was widely scattered in all the usual places and in a few new places in central Asia and along the Antarctic Plate edge where two more 4.8 or so quakes struck in a new location in the Pacific. My usual eyeball analysis of the quake lists and quake location maps failed to spot any really new patterns.

PLUS – THIS EXCEPTION, THE HUGE 7.1 QUAKE IN NEW ZEALAND AUGUST 21 ( which is out of the comparative week date structure for this update)

THE WEEK’S MOST SIGNIFICANT QUAKES

Hard to say what were the most significant quakes this PAST period, tectonically speaking, but here are two interesting ones.

This first one is another quake on the edge of the great Antarctic Tectonic Plate, but this is a new location. It is a repeat of another quake in the same area of about the same size a few days earlier. This is about the seventh location around the Antarctic Plate which has had quakes during the past several months.

The second quake was a 4.3 quake in the middle of the Aegean Sea, in about the middle of the zone which has been struck by three dozen or more quakes during the past month.

Tectonic Summary

New Zealand straddles the boundary of the Australian and Pacific plates. Along New Zealand, the Australian plate moves to the northeast at a rate of 35 to 45 mm/yr relative to the Pacific plate. In the central South Island, this plate motion results in predominantly strike-slip movement along the Alpine Fault. In southwestern South Island, relative plate motion is accommodated by oblique subduction of the Australian plate along the Puysegur trench and deformation of the overriding Pacific plate inland of the trench. The Southern Alps of New Zealand result from this oblique plate convergence.

The recent (03/08/21) thrust earthquake occurred near the southern tip of South Island in a region known as Fiordland. The preliminary location, depth, and estimate of fault orientation are consistent with the earthquake having resulted from slip on the thrust interface between the Pacific and Australian plates. The deformed and subducted Australian plate beneath Fiordland and below the thrust interface is also highly active, and several surface strands of the Alpine Fault are observed in the vicinity of the earthquake epicenter in the overriding Pacific plate above the thrust interface.

Over the past two decades, several large earthquakes have occurred in Fiordland. A magnitude 7.0 event on August 10, 1993 caused power outages in the Te Anau area and was felt throughout South Island and as far away as Sydney, Australia. A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck on May 31, 1989 and was felt strongly in the southwestern part of South Island and a magnitude 6.7 quake struck on June 3, 1988.

Seemingly, technically within the dating structure I use, overall North American activity seemed mostly contrarian of the Syzygy Window Principle. Quake activity should have been down during most of the past seven days. The USGS charts (such charts show all quakes 1.0 and above) for the U.S. and Alaska show 390 quakes for the past seven days (up from last week’s 371) with the USGS chart for California/Nevada showing 266 quakes in California/Nevada during the past seven days (up from last week’s 227). The USGS Chart for the Pacific Northwest reveals 38 quakes (two week sum, up from 34 last week) widely scattered throughout the Cascade Mountain chain in Oregon and Washington. Hood was silent. The USGS chart for Long Valley Cauldera (Area) showed a running total of 22 (up from 6 last week). The Rocky Mountain Cordillera had 25 quakes scattered throughout Utah (up from only 16 last week). Only Yellowstone was PC for this period. The USGS Chart of Yellowstone Cauldera Area showed 8 microquakes during the last week (down from 30 last week).

This increased activity might be "late" syzygy activity since the window straddled both the last part of the prior week and the beginning of this last seven days. I would have to graph out the activity to make the determination but I don’t think it is worth the effort.

MOST ACTIVE VOLCANOES (& OTHER NEWS) THIS WEEK:

Mt Etna Volcano (Italy)

El Popo gave only a 2 puff day, only three more than last Wednesday. Centrapred reports for August 20 (16:00 GMT) that "In the last 24 hours the monitoring system of Popocatepétl volcano recorded 2 low intensity exhalations, mainly accompanied by steam and gas. Today, it was detected a volcanotectonic microearthquake, located 1 km to the north, ubicated 4.8 km deep and magnitude 2.0. The other monitored parameters remain without important changes. At the moment of this report, the volcano can not be seen due to clouds; however, this morning we could see the volcano with low fumarolic activity."

The Ditech Arbitrageur: no check this week (I am not seeing much TV)

A small bubble is finally trying to form up, stocks are up this week getting close to the 9500 I originally forecast for this time frame. We are seeing real signs of recovery with improvement (relative and slight in some areas) of less unemployment and expansion of manufacturing in the Middle Atlantic states (that Washington DC Iraq and Black Arts Nation military Keynesian stimulation seems to be seeping into the ground water there). Bulls are snorting here and there and Bears seem reluctant to say much of anything.

But a strong recovery is not necessarily on the way, nor will the stock and real estate bubbles go very far. The U.S. is already signaling it is in over its head in Iraq, the Palestinian solution has evaporated once again, and confidence is likely to erode rapidly. With each passing week, the Bush administration is beginning more and more to walk, talk, look, and smell like, not a duck - Hoover.

CONFIRMED: PREDICTION FROM THE LAST FEW WEEKS: We still are in the dog days, more or less, high summer where everything muddles in the muddle its in without much change. This will continue into August and then I suspect that a new round of terrorist activities will stir up a roiling boiling pot of violence and confusion.

SUDDENLY, THE JIDHADISTS STRIKE IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS, REVEALING THAT AL QAEDA IS ALIVE AND WELL. THE STRIKES REVEAL THAT THE STRATEGY OF EMBROILING THE U.S. IN A VAST GUERILLA STRUGGLE ACROSS THE ENTIRE SPECTRUM OF THE MID-EAST HAS SECURED UNPRECEDENTED COOPERATION AMONG RADICAL FUNDAMENTALISTS.

This developing "quagmire" also successfully demonstrates the brilliance of Osama Bin Laden’s strategy to confuse and demoralize what he considers to be a shallow population and a corrupt American government.

As can be seen on all fronts, the American government has lost credibility around the world and the American people have lost all sense of coherence about what to do. They can’t even admit that that their economy has set sail for China and they are left holding the bag theoretically facing a hundred years of indentured servitude to pay off their collective international debt.

BUT, now even junior high school kids are "hip" to the manipulations of the Imperial Faction and the push to war in Syria and Iran even as the occupation in Iraq totally flops.
